LOVASOA INAUGURATION

In the streets of Antsirabe, BIRA is more than just a drink; it is a symbol of sharing. We say "BIRA" in three beats: to honor the heritage of the "Water City," to celebrate the brotherhood of local "gargotes" (eateries), and to assert a strong cultural identity at the foot of the Vakinankaratra plateau. But today, this conviviality takes on a sacred dimension under Nary Arthur’s brush.

Since Monday, March 9, 2026, the Lovasoa Cross-Cultural Competence Center (L4C) has been hosting a major exhibition by the painter Nary Arthur Razafiarison. This event will run until April 17, 2026.

An Inspirational Stay in "Bira"

NARY ARTHUR BIRA

For Nary Arthur, this exhibition in Antsirabe is more than a professional milestone. It is an opportunity for him to wander through the streets of "Bira" (the local nickname for Antsirabe).

The artist is taking advantage of this stay to soak up the local life and the unique atmosphere of the Water City. He spends time photographing iconic landmarks, such as the Railway Station Avenue and the thermal baths, to fuel his future creations. This direct immersion into the daily lives of the inhabitants allows Arthur to ensure the authenticity of his paintings.

During this exhibition, the city of BIRA becomes the capital of solidarity. The modern and serene setting of L4C offers a special resonance to the artist's themes. As visitors walk through the gallery, they realize that the fluidity of Nary Arthur’s watercolors is not just aesthetic: it represents the flow of life, mutual aid, and restored dignity.

The New Master of Watercolor

NARY ARTHUR AQUARELLE ET BOIS

Arthur is now recognized as the new master of watercolor in Madagascar. He masters this challenging technique with great precision. His works capture the island's light, notably through his famous paintings of vintage cars (4L, 2CV).

While continuing his watercolor work on paper, he is also introducing his new approach here: painting on wood. He uses natural mediums to give a living texture and an original warmth to his subjects.

A Journey Through Prestigious Venues

Nary Arthur’s talent is recognized far beyond local borders. His works have been exhibited in high-level institutions:

  • The Vatican: Presentation of internationally acclaimed works.
  • CCI Ivato (Antananarivo): Participation in the Madagascar International Fair (FIM).
  • Hôtel du Louvre (Antaninarenina): Exhibitions in this historic capital landmark.
  • Alliance Française (Antananarivo): Several solo thematic exhibitions.
  • Espace Rarihasina (Analakely): A cornerstone venue for Malagasy culture.
  • BNI Madagascar (Ankorondrano): Exhibition at the headquarters of this major institution.
  • L4C (Antsirabe): Current location of his residency and exhibition.
